My mission is to bring us into closer relationship with the divine for the benefit of our individual, communal, and environmental well-being. As a young child, I became aware that there are factors that we both can and cannot control. Much of this understanding grew out of having suffered with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) during a time when it was generally unrecognized. I healed myself by surrendering. But, while my obsession with counting had been laid to rest, a new obsession arose: food, calories, and body weight. As such I pursued nutrition as a career path.
With degrees in nutrition and spirituality, I am uniquely qualified to help us understand our dynamic relationship with food. My passion about the unbreakable links between food and spirituality is the result of over twenty years of academic, professional, and personal exploration and are a cornerstone to my work as a shamanic soul coach. Believing that something deeper and unrecognized courses through our decisions about food, I pursued a master of arts degree in culture and creation spirituality from Holy Names College in 1996. Pregnant with my first child, this was a powerfully transformative time in which I began to understand the principles of co-creation. As I strengthened my understanding of the world’s religions and our cosmic interconnectedness, my appreciation of our relationship with each other and the planet grew immensely. In time, I became a Shamanic Soul Coach and Sacred Courtesan with certifications from the Integrative Arts Institute in Oakland, CA. It was there that I began to understand how to work with the many parts of ourselves and to tap into the power of transformation on many levels. I am an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church and a Level 2 Reiki Healer. I have worked closely with various plant medicines, most especially ayahuasca at the Temple of the Way of Light and AYA Healing Retreat Center in Peru. I have received certification in mediumship from international psychic medium, Thomas John and enjoy connecting people with their loved ones on the other side. Most recently, I have grown my purpose with shamanic sacred sexuality through the International School of Temple Arts.
I am a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and currently reside in Sedona, Arizona. I am the proud ShamanMama of two sons, Eric and Matthew Ota.
