More than ever, we are feeling fragmented from each other. Between social distancing and not being able to gather at our usual places for connection (gyms, dance clubs, restaurants, sports arenas, and so on), most of us have severely limited the time we spend with others. The immune enhancing results of seeing someone smile and of having their smile lead us to smile have been masked. The widely recognized immune enhancing benefits of physical touch have been cut off through social distancing. These guidelines present interesting trade offs on what will keep us healthy. But not does this social experiment fragment us from each other, it leaves us more fragmented within ourselves. People provide us with a reflection of who we are and what we feel. Without that, it is easy to lose ourselves, especially when there are, indeed, many parts of ourselves.
In the podcast below (my first, btw), my guest, Francesa Gentillé, and I take a journey into the world of words and shamanism. Francesca Gentille, an initiated shaman in four traditions, talks about shamanism and how this ancient healing practice can bring light to the darkness of our modern day world. This podcast was recorded prior to COVID19, but its truths are entirely relevant for our current challenges.
How can we integrate the many parts of ourselves, including those that have been hidden, lost, suppressed, and denied?
How can we use shamanic principles to manage and heal the sufferings and tragedies – shootings, fires, hurricanes, and molestations – that have manifested throughout our world?
Listen in to tap into this deep wisdom that brings forth wholeness.
